The growers behind Royalnovaarenacharm

Royalnovaarenacharm began with a simple frustration: most reviews of cosy browser games were written after an hour of play, when every farm is generous and every timer is short. We wanted to know what these games are like in week three, when the welcome gifts have stopped and the real rhythm shows.

So we play slowly. Every game on our shelf has been tended from a fresh account for weeks, through ordinary mornings and tired evenings, the way most players actually experience them. We note where the shop appears, how forgiving the timers are and whether the game still feels gentle once the novelty wears off.

Our focus is narrow on purpose: farms, gardens, zoos and the animals that live in them. We would rather know six games well than sixty games vaguely. That focus lets us compare honestly, explain why a score sits where it does and say clearly which game suits which kind of player.

We write in British English for readers in Britain and anywhere else who likes their farm games cosy. If a game changes, we replay it and update the review openly. If we get something wrong, we want to hear about it and we will put it right.

01

Long play before any opinion

No game is scored until we have played it for at least two weeks on a fresh account, through the generous start and into the slower middle where its true character appears.

02

Facts checked at the gate

Every mechanic, publisher and device line is confirmed against official sources before we publish. When we cannot verify a detail, we describe the experience instead of guessing a number.

03

Calm comes first

We judge cosy games by whether they stay cosy. A game that turns into a daily obligation loses marks, however clever its systems, because restfulness is the whole point of the genre.
